YOUTH DEPARTMENT NOTICES

SHABBAT GROUPS: In this week's Parsha, Parshat Behar-Bechukotai, we are introduced to the concept of Shemittah. This concept refers to farmers working the land and growing fruits and vegetables for six years followed by a year where they can't work on the land at all or benefit from anything that grows on the land. Hashem always plans that in the sixth year, there will be more than enough fruit to last the farmers for the next three years. Luckily for us, that only occurs in Israel and even so, we are not in the seventh year of the cycle. We will be giving out fruit this Shabbat in groups to celebrate the abundance of fruit that we have and it will definitely be a "sweet" Shabbat! Hope to see you all on Shabbat!

BNEI AKIVA: Last SNIF/B'nei Akiva Program of the year - Shabbat Afternoon - All 2nd -6th graders are invited to enjoy a special Shabbat afternoon from 6:30 pm until Mincha with our B'nei Akiva Snif leaders. Don't miss out!

SHUL LITTLE LEAGUE SCHEDULE: Sunday, May 17th has been posted on the league’s website at www.westhempsteadshulslittleleague.com. Please bring water for the players, and make sure to check the "2015 BLOG" link on the website for any weather-related updates. Please remember there are no games on May 24th (Shavuot) or May 31st (Israel Day Parade). Please also note that the league has a limited number of extra shirts and caps in different colors (youth and adult sizes) for sale at $11/shirt, $9/cap or $18/pair; please e-mail ariel@westhempsteadshulslittleleague.com if you are interested.

SHAVUOT – YOUTH: The Omer is winding down and that means Shavuot is right around the corner! You don't want to miss our festivities this Shavuot with "Sunday Sundaes" and "Monday Mounds"!
