MANC NOTICES: WOMEN - The mikvah will be open on the night of Bedikat Chometz - Sunday, April 13, 2014 - from 8:30 until 11 p.m. MEN - The mikvah will be open for men on Erev Pesach, Monday, April 14, 2014 from 7 a.m. – 9 a.m. The $18 fee is to cover costs.

Maot Chitim: Charity for those in need is being divided between Israel and WH. Checks should be given to Rabbi Schwalb and can be made out to the ECDP Rabbi’s Fund.

PESACH CLEANING: The Shul will be cleaned for Pesach on Sunday, April 13th. Please make sure to remove any chometz items that you may have in the Shul prior to that date.

SEUDAH SHELISHEET, May 3rd, 2014 – An IDF solder is scheduled to speak during Seuduah Shelisheet.

YOM HASHOAH: Please mark your calendar for Motzei Shabbat, May 3rd, at 9:30pm, at the Young Israel of West Hempstead for a special program. This year's Yom Hashoah Program looks at the incredible story of Marion Blumenthal Lazan, author of Four Perfect Pebbles. Her firsthand account as a survivor, from events preceding Kristallnacht to imprisonment in Nazi concentration camps and finally to liberation, has been heralded by thousands as an incredible journey and fight for survival. Dedication forms have been sent out by email, and will be available in the YIWH lobby, to dedicate this year's program to a loved one. Please make every effort to have a member of your family attend this very special program. This year's program is sponsored by the Young Israel of West Hempstead, Congregation Anshei Shalom and Congregation Eitz Chayim of Dogwood Park.

YOUTH DEPARTMENT NOTICES

SHABBAT GROUPS: Shabbat Groups this week begin at 10 am. This week Parsha is Acharei Mot, a special week as it is Shabbos Hagodal - the last Shabbos before Pesach! Join us as we remove all of the Chometz from the Shul - kid’s style! There will be a scavenger hunt to look for all of the hidden Chometz throughout the Shul, and if we are successful, then we will be having our own BIG Youth Kiddush with all of the Chametz that we find (with other Chomeitz as well!) So whether we really rid the Shul of Chometz (or just make a bigger mess) make sure to be there with us this Shabbat for Bedikat Chometz - Eitz Chayim Youth Groups Style. Tickets and prizes are always part of the fun as you have to be IN IT TO WIN IT!

Bnei Akiva SNIF: Shabbat Afternoon, April 12th, for 3rd- 6th graders. 1 hour before the Main Shul Mincha in the Youth Wing at YIWH. Games, learn about Am Yisrael, Eretz Yisrael and Torat Yisrael and of course, don’t forget about the delicious snacks!!!

ECDP WOMEN'S BOOK CLUB: The next book club meeting featuring The Art Forger” by B.A. Shapiro Valdez will take place Monday, April 28th at 8:30 pm at the home of Nancy Smith, 694 Evergreen Drive. The books will be available at the West Hempstead library under Nancy’s book club.

SHUL REMINDERS: Please do not bring any Strollers into the Shul. Strollers must remain outside all buildings. Please do not bring food into the new sanctuary. New ECDP Simcha Fund: It is the practice in many shuls to mark special occasions by donating to a shul charity fund. By giving to charity in connection with a simcha, we recognize that our simchas are dependent on Hashem’s abundant kindness. ECDP is pleased to announce the formation of our new Simcha Fund. We look forward to celebrating many happy occasions with all of you over the coming years. To donate to the ECDP Simcha Fund, simply notify webmaster@ecdp.info information about your simcha for listing in the weekly announcements and the amount of your donation.

COURTESY TO OUR NEIGHBORS: Please make sure not to park your cars in any way that blocks our neighbors' driveways. Additionally, please do not walk through neighbors’ backyards on your way to and from the Shul unless you know that the family does not mind.

The West Hempstead Food Bank is now making available cards which can be given to your Shabbat hosts and/or used for any other occasion. All proceeds from the sales of the cards, which indicate that a donation has been made to the Food Bank, will be used to purchase food. Cards are being sold in packages of 5 for a minimum $25 donation. To obtain the cards or for more information, please contact Amy Zehnwirth at amyzehn@gmail.com.
